Marissa Cobb - Film Production and Storyboarding
Writing
I have written a total of six scripts: one five-minute and four ten-minute short films, and one forty-five minute pilot episode.
My writing style favors horror, suspense, adventure and dark comedy. My style also specifically favors zombie films.
Two of the films I have written, "I Love You for Your Brains" and "Last Words," have been made into short films, both directed by me.
I have experience with Movie Magic Screenwriter 6.

Directing
I have directed three short films. My Freshman Film, "I Love You for Your Brains," my Junior Film, "Sock Thief," and my Senior Thesis Film, "Last Words."
"Sock Thief" was selected for the 2022 Pop Con International Film Festival, and has also been selected for the 2023 River Bend Film Festival.
My directing style is focused mostly on planning for the edit. I start a project with the finished edit in mind, and my goal is to make it as easy for my editor as possible. As such, I focus on the pacing and timing of each shot, and making sure to get as many angles of each take as possible. This focus makes me better suited for comedy and horror, as both rely heavily on pacing and timing.

I Love You
for Your
Brains
In a post-apocalyptic
world, an undead
couple struggles to
stay together and
survive the living.

Sock Thief
When a childish
young man is
caught stealing
his best friend's
socks, he must
earn back his trust
or lose their
friendship.

Editing
I have edited six short films and school projects, ranging from one to ten minutes. I have edited a five-minute short film, a sixty-second documentary, and a ten-minute documentary. I have also been assistant editor and DIT for a ten-minute short film.
I am capable of editing with various types of cuts, transitions, pacing and music.
I have experience using Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects, and most recently, I have added Edius into the mix.
Photography
I have been a behind-the-scenes photographer for various short film projects, and have even worked as a photographer for a charity golf event. In high school, I was also a photographer for our school newspaper and yearbook, and took many pictures of football and basketball games for them.
I enjoy taking candid photos and action shots, but I also enjoy taking a more narrative approach and trying to tell a story with characters, rather than just capturing a moment. I love taking photos of cosplays and costumes, and working with people to come up with poses and expressions that will tell a story.
