Who I Am
Hello, my name is Marissa Cobb, and I am a visual creator.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Film Production from Huntington University. My main interests in film are in storyboarding, directing and editing, but I also enjoy screenwriting, lighting and behind-the-scenes photography.
I love working in small groups, whether out on set or in the background. I like experiencing all aspects of a project, from pre-planning to production to post-production, and I love the challenge of bringing ideas to life.
In addition to film, I am also passionate about illustration and concept design, as well as costume design and photography.
What I've Done - College
While studying at Huntington University, I wrote six short film scripts, and directed three short films. I also created concept art and storyboards for three other short films, as well as for various other small projects. I have also taken behind-the-scenes photos for two short films, and many other smaller projects.
One of the short films that I directed, Sock Thief, was selected for both the 2022 Pop Con International Film Festival (Indianapolis) and the 2023 River Bend Film Festival (Goshen.)
In addition to taking film classes, I also took a few animation classes for illustrating and editing in Adobe Photoshop and After Effects, as well as for storyboarding and illustrating in varying styles.
What I've Done - Professional
Since graduating college, I have worked as a News Editor at a news station in Fort Wayne. While working in this position, I have done a variety of jobs, ranging from organizing files for news segments to operating the studio cameras during the show.
While in this position, I have learned how to edit using Edius, run studio cameras, and act as floor director during live news shows.
